1Information We Collect
Depending on how you use HAUSINE, we may collect:
Account Information
Such as:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Login information
- Profile information
Household Information
Information you choose to add to your HAUSINE household or workspace, such as household preferences, services, items, tasks, records or other information you choose to manage through the Platform.
Transaction Information
Where applicable, we may collect information related to purchases, bookings, payments, rewards, points, credits and other transactions. Payment card information may be processed by third-party payment providers rather than stored directly by HAUSINE.
Professional & Business Information
If you create a PRO or business account, we may collect information such as business name, contact details, professional information, services offered and verification information.
Technical Information
We may automatically collect information such as:
- IP address
- Device type
- Browser
- Operating system
- Usage activity
- Approximate location
- Diagnostic and security information
Sensitive Information You Choose to Store
Some HAUSINE modules are designed to hold information that matters deeply: health and medication notes in My People, veterinary records in My Pets, identity and insurance documents in My Vault, emergency contacts, and financial records in My Money. You decide whether to store any of it. We treat it as sensitive: it is never used for advertising, never sold, never used to train AI models, and it is only visible to your household.
Location Information
With your permission, we use device location for Transit directions, nearby stores and services, weather, local alerts and — only if you switch it on — location sharing with your household. Precise location is used at the moment you request it and is not continuously tracked in the background. You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings.
Information You Provide
We may collect information you voluntarily submit, including reviews, messages, photographs, listings, requests, preferences and other content.
Information About Other People
You may record details about household members, children, pets, caregivers and contacts. You are responsible for having the right to record it. We process it on your household's behalf, only to provide the features you use.
2What Your Household Can See
HAUSINE is shared by design. Information you add to a household module is visible to the other members of that household, according to their role.
Owners and admins can manage members, roles, invites and household settings. Guests are view-only.
Two things are never shared automatically: the contents of a Vault safe, which is visible only to the safe's members after unlocking with a code, and your live location, which is shared only while you have switched sharing on.
Removing a member stops future access. It cannot undo what someone has already seen.
Every record in HAUSINE is scoped to a household at the database level, so one household can never read another household's data.
3My Vault
Files you place in a safe are stored in private storage and served only through short-lived signed links to members of that safe.
Safe access codes are stored as a one-way cryptographic hash. Nobody at HAUSINE can read, recover or reset your code, and repeated wrong attempts are rate-limited and locked out.
We log who opened a safe and when, so your household can see activity on its own records.
We do not scan, index, monetise, profile or use the contents of your safes to train AI models.
If you lose both your safe code and your recovery code, the contents cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. That is the direct consequence of holding the key ourselves being impossible.
4How We Use Your Information
HAUSINE may use information to:

- Provide and personalize HAUSINE services
- Help you manage your household
- Connect you with relevant services, professionals and businesses
- Process transactions
- Manage rewards and loyalty programs
- Provide customer support

We do not use your information for purposes that are incompatible with this Policy without appropriate notice or legal authorization.
5Havi, AI & Personalization
Havi is HAUSINE's assistant. It answers questions, plans journeys, researches local businesses, drafts listings and shopping lists, and estimates prices.
When you ask Havi something, we send the question and the minimum context needed to answer it well — usually your city, region, country and the module you are in. We do not send your Vault contents, your documents, your financial records, health notes or the identities of your household members.
We do not use your household data to train AI models, and our AI providers are contractually bound not to train on it either.
Havi's answers are estimates generated from public and third-party data. They can be incomplete, outdated or wrong, and you remain responsible for decisions you make based on them.
Personalization inside HAUSINE — what shows on your Overview, which reminders surface, which stores and providers are nearby — is based on your own household data and stays within your household.
6What We Never Do
There are things we will not do with your information, whatever the commercial argument:
- We do not sell personal information
- We do not share it with data brokers
- We do not use Vault contents for advertising
- We do not use household data to train AI models
- We do not read your household's private messages for marketing
- We do not track your location in the background
- We do not let one household see another's records
If this ever needs to change, we will tell you clearly and ask before it applies to you.
8Professionals & Businesses
When you choose to contact, book, purchase from or otherwise interact with a professional, provider or business through HAUSINE, information necessary to facilitate that interaction may be shared with the relevant party.
You control whether you initiate these interactions, subject to information necessary to operate the service.
HAUSINE does not control how an independent third party uses information after receiving it. Their own privacy practices may also apply.
10Communications
We may send you communications necessary to operate your account, including:
- Security alerts
- Transaction confirmations
- Service notifications
- Account updates
- Important policy changes
- Other operational messages
Where required by law, marketing communications will include appropriate consent and unsubscribe options.
11Protecting Your Information
We protect household information with layered safeguards:
- Encryption in transit and at rest
- Row-level access rules scoped to your household
- One-way hashing of Vault access codes
- Private file storage with short-lived signed links
- Rate limiting on sign-in and unlock attempts
- Least-privilege access for our own systems
- Activity logging on sensitive records
No digital system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we do not pretend otherwise.
If a breach affects your personal information and creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the relevant regulators as required by applicable Canadian and United States law.
You are also responsible for protecting your credentials, keeping your devices secure, and telling us at hello@hausine.com if you believe your account or a safe has been compromised.
12How Long We Keep Information
We keep information only for as long as it is genuinely needed:
- Household records: until you delete them or close the household
- Vault files: until you delete them or delete the safe
- Account data: through the deletion grace period, then removed
- Transactions and receipts: as long as tax and dispute law requires
- Security and fraud logs: a limited period for protection purposes
- Havi questions: kept briefly to run and improve the feature
Requesting account deletion starts a grace period during which you can cancel. After it ends we remove your personal account data, except records we are legally required to keep.
Deleting your account does not delete a household you share with others. Transfer ownership or remove the household first if you want its records gone.
13Your Privacy Choices & Rights
Under Canadian privacy law (including PIPEDA and provincial equivalents such as Quebec's Law 25) and United States state privacy laws (including the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Request a portable copy of your information
- Withdraw consent, including location permission
- Opt out of any sale or sharing — we do none
- Manage communication and notification preferences
- Object to or limit certain processing
- Complain to a privacy regulator
You can exercise most of these directly in HAUSINE — edit or delete records in each module, manage notifications and language in Profile, and request account deletion from your profile.
For anything else, email hello@hausine.com. We respond within the time applicable law allows, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
14Children's Privacy
HAUSINE is not intended for children who are not legally permitted to use the applicable Platform features.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in circumstances where such collection is prohibited by law.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to HAUSINE improperly, please contact us.
15Third-Party Services
HAUSINE may connect with third-party websites, applications, payment providers, services or businesses.
Once you leave HAUSINE or interact directly with a third party, that party's privacy policy may apply.
We encourage you to review the privacy practices of third parties before providing them with personal information.
16International Processing
HAUSINE serves households in Canada and the United States. Information may be processed or stored in either country, or in other countries where our service providers operate, always under safeguards appropriate to the laws that apply to you — including Canadian privacy law and, for United States residents, applicable state privacy laws.
Where information is processed outside your jurisdiction, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
HAUSINE will take reasonable steps to handle personal information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
17Changes to This Privacy Policy
As HAUSINE grows, we may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features, services, technologies or legal requirements.
When changes are material, we will provide appropriate notice where required.
The updated version will include a new “Last Updated” date.
